Betty G. Birney's Humphrey books are aimed at 7–9 year-olds and written to be read independently by that age group. The content of the books is also appropriate to be read aloud to younger children.

From April 2011, Faber will publish Humphrey's Tiny Tales, a series of shorter adventures, which are perfect for reading to 5–7s and still just as fun and exciting for 7–9s.

Each month we will post new projects in the Fun-Fun-Fun section of this website, from simple paper crafts to Humphrey baking ideas. Please explore these with your children or students – we hope you enjoy them!

Betty often tours schools in the UK, talking to children about how Humphrey was created, her hamster research, how she writes (and rewrites!) and everything else you wanted to know about Humphrey.

On funwithhumphrey.com we allow kids to submit their pet pictures and jokes, and to contact Humphrey via his noticeboard.

We ask that users avoid submitting any pet pictures that contain a person's image, and we will edit or reject any images that do.
